On Tuesday we recorded an audio for a story.
In this session i learned audio recording and editing skills.
we used an audio microphone to capture our voices while narrating the cat in the hat, we did this in a secluded room to remove any background noise this allowed for a clear and interference free audio track, we then stitched together our individual clips in the editing software adobe audition to create one long audio clip. When preparing to record we had to be careful the audio recorder was setup correctly meaning it had to be in MP3 mode. From this experience I have learned how to use a high quality audio recorder and how to use adobe audition to create a basic audio clip.
Materials: We used an audio recorder to capture our speech when reading the script, we used a script to narrate in our case we used the cat in the hat, and finally we used a computer with the "Adobe Audition" programme downloaded, this was so we could edit our recordings and stitch them all together to create our outcome.
Process: The first thing we did was read through the scripts as a practice we then assigned each person a roll, we then used the audio recorder to capture each section of the script narrated by a different person each time, we tried to be as consistent as possible so that it was easy to find the correct recordings in post production, finally we logged into a computer and stitched the chosen recordings in order the assemble our final outcome which we then saved as an MP3 file.
Technical skills: One skill i used was being able to consistently use separate tones of voice whilst recording, this was good because it meant i could alter my voice depending on the punctuation without it sounding wrong, another skill i used was editing the audio clips, this meant i could help to create a successful outcome more easily as i didn't have to work out how to use the programme as i was using it.
